Our social programme will give you a chance to explore Edinburgh and enjoy what our unique city has to offer with your new friends from around the world. Activities will be scheduled for afternoons and some evenings throughout your two weeks, so you can make the most of your time in Edinburgh.
Our session will kick off with a welcome and orientation event, where you can get to know your new classmates, followed by an open-top bus tour which will help you get to know the city.
You will visit our best-loved landmarks, including Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse – the Queen’s official residence in Scotland. Our walks to the iconic Arthur's Seat and Calton Hill, a UNESCO World Heritage site, will give you amazing views over the city.
We’ll also provide a real taste of Scottish culture at our ceilidh (pronounced ‘kay-lee’), a traditional Scottish party. You’ll also have the chance to sample Scottish cuisine with a charming afternoon tea or some fish and chips.
You’ll also have the chance to meet local high school students and find out what they love about Edinburgh at a number of social events.
The end of your session will be marked with a Farewell event, where you will graduate from the Summer School and gain your official certificate.
