You can also explore the city with your new classmates with our included open-top bus ticket, which will help you get to know your way around.
With our trips to Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, you can learn all about the history of Edinburgh and its important role through the centuries. Visiting the best museums and art galleries in the city will introduce you to Scottish culture and heritage, while our eerie ghost tour will let you see the darker side of our historical city.
You can experience a true taste of Scottish culture with our charming afternoon tea, and learn how to dance like a local at our ceilidh (pronounced 'kay-lee', a traditional Scottish party. What’s more, there is the opportunity to sample Scottish and international cuisine, such as the famous haggis or fish and chips.
If you're feeling energetic, you can get competitive with your classmates at our sports sessions, and see the city from above with our hikes to the iconic Arthur's Seat and Calton Hill, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The end of your session will be marked with a Farewell event, where you will graduate from the Summer School and gain your official certificate.
The University of Edinburgh is located amongst some of the most impressive landscapes and architecture in the world and, as a student of the Summer School, it will provide an amazing and memorable backdrop to your summer of opportunities.
