The weather in Edinburgh in summer varies. July is usually fairy dry but recently it has been damp and humid. Edinburgh can be windy so it’s always worth ensuring you have at least a few items of warmer clothing, especially if you plan to enjoy walks in the local area or climb Arthur’s Seat. It may be useful to bring a light rainproof jacket.
For up to date weather forecasts we recommended the UK Met Office where you can check a few hours or even days in advance.
The weather simply cannot be predicted and therefore bringing a range of outfits is recommended. There may be days where all you need are flip-flops and shorts whilst others you would be lost without your favourite jumper. Don’t forget your umbrella!
