I took up the post of Summer School Manager in July 2014. However, I have worked in international higher education for many years in the UK, Spain, France and Sweden. I am taking care to ensure we deliver the highest quality education as is expected of the University of Edinburgh and will be very keen to hear about your experience from the moment you first contact us to your graduation from our programme. My aim is to provide you with the very best experience here at the Summer School and I am really looking forward to meeting you all here.
Favourite place in Edinburgh
My favourite place in Edinburgh is Arthur’s Seat. I love climbing up to see the great views of the city.
Advice for students
My advice for students coming to Edinburgh for a summer is to come prepared for the weather as you may experience all four seasons in one day!
Favourite quote
My favourite quote is from Alexander McCall Smith “This is a city of shifting light, of changing skies, of sudden vistas. A city so beautiful it breaks the heart again and again.”
Magdalena Bennett
Web and Marketing Officer
I am the Web and Marketing Officer and I make sure that all promotion of our Summer School meets requirements. I am responsible for the web and marketing of the Summer School which includes digital and traditional marketing.

I studied International Relations, Marketing and Advertising and I have been in marketing field for over a decade now. If you follow us on social media like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and wonder who posts all the cool stuff, that’s me.

My aim is to ensure all the communication is going smoothly and that you are equipped with all the information before coming to University of Edinburgh.
Favourite place in Edinburgh
My favourite place in Edinburgh: along the Royal Mile, there are plenty closes. They are like some secret places and by going and see them you feel like nothing changed there for centuries.
Advice for students
Explore, explore and explore. The best way to visit the city is on your foot. Just go out and start walking and you will be amazed.
Favourite quote
“It's better to regret something you did than to regret something you didn't do.”
Jade Ntsele
Projects Coordinator
I support the delivery of Summer School projects and activities, which includes designing and co-ordinating the Summer School social programme and student induction, as well as developing systems for managing communications with our key stakeholders and providing office management
and administrative support for the Summer School Director.

My passion for international education and adventure has allowed me to live, work and study in South Africa, Italy, the Canary Islands and here in beautiful Scotland. After studying Spanish and Italian at the University of St Andrews and having experienced the benefits of exploring new countries, customs and languages, I am delighted to support Summer School students to make the most of their time overseas.
Favourite place in Edinburgh
As for a favourite place in Edinburgh, I recommend visiting the shore - the beach at Portobello just outside the city is very pleasant for a stroll in the sunshine, or you can go sailing and kayaking from the promenade. It is easy to forget how close you are to the water once you are in the middle of the city but there are many enchanting corners to discover nearby.
Advice for students
My advice for Summer School students would be to try something new every day. From cuisine to different routes around the city, there is always something unusual to experience.
